Our expertly-designed Swift Single Box is specifically tailored to meet the specific needs of swifts, providing a secure and hospitable nesting environment.
With tongue and groove joints and ventilation holes, this box maintains a stable temperature for optimal nesting conditions. The entrance ladder assists swifts in reaching the box, while the dark circle serves as a visual cue for nesting.
The internal structure mimics the dark spaces preferred by swifts for nesting, and the nesting cup filled with sterile feathers aids in nest building.

All of our boxes are made by hand to order. We aim to ship all boxes in 5 to 7 days of order placement.
However, at busy times this can be up to 3 weeks due to the nature of hand finishing each product.
The exceptions to this are Apex boxes and Bespoke boxes which can take up to 4 weeks to make.
We currently only ship to addresses within the UK.
Our boxes are made from 18mm ply. Our ply is sourced from responsible plantations within Europe that plant 3 trees for each 1 that is harvested.
The ply has excellent water resistance, the surface is breathable and water vapour can move freely. This is one of the reasons why our ply will not delaminate, unlike others available. You do not need to treat the ply prior to mounting the box.
The paint used on roofs of boxes (if applicable) is a water based, heat reflective, roofing paint.
All screws used are stainless steel. We design the boxes to minimise our reliance on screws.
Detailed instructions will come with your box.
Swifts prefer their nesting sites as high up as possible. Preferably 5m+, however they have been known to nest as low as 1.5m.
Make sure that the swifts have a good, clear approach both below and in front of nesting sites, avoiding obstacles like tree branches and telephone wires.
Ideally the boxes should be placed on North, East or West walls. The boxes should be positioned out of direct, prolonged sun.
Our boxes can be placed on South facing walls if necessary as the material is 18mm thick and there are ventilation holes on the rear of the box to prevent overheating.
There is no need to treat or paint the boxes prior to putting them up. If you want to paint the box, we suggest using a water-based, non-toxic paint. Please do not paint over the dark circles on swift boxes - these are visual clues to swifts that there is a nesting cavity.
We suggest inspecting the box once a year when you are very confident there are no nesting birds using it.
